Race Day Information

FAQ's on our race:

1. Where is the Father's Day Run located?

The Father's Day Run is held at Village Shalom, which is located at 5500 West 123rd Street, Overland Park, KS 66209.

2. What is the length of the course?

Our 5K/10K walk/run is a USATF-certified course. Please click here to see the course map.

3. What date and time does the race begin?

The Father's Day Run will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 and starts at 7:30 a.m., but you might want to arrive earlier to park, register, and warm-up for the race.

    4. Where do we park?

    B'nai Jehudah graciously offers their parking lot for our participants to use. We ask that you park there and walk over to Village Shalom. B'nai Jehudah is located at 12320 Nall Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66209.

    5. When is Packet Pickup?

    Packet pickup begins on Friday, June 16 from 4-8 p.m. at Village Shalom in the circle drive

    *Race Day Registration/Packet Pick-Up begins at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 18.

    6. What does this race benefit?

    The event raises funds for Village Shalom's programs and services for residents and their families confronting the challenges of Alzheimer's disease.

    7. Will runners/walkers be timed?

    Yes! Timing will be provided by Race Day Timing Solutions. When you pick up your race day packet, you will receive a bib with a chip inside.You must cross both the start and finish lines to receive your official race results.

    8. How do I find out my results?

    There will be computers located at the registration booth for participants to check their times. You can also view your results online.

    9. Will someone take my picture as I cross the finish line?

    Of course! Mile90 has been the official photographer for the Father's Day Run for the last several years. They will take photos on the course, at the finish line, and during the awards ceremony. To view photos after the event, please visit Mile90. You can also take a few silly photos with your family after the race at our photo booth near the finish line.

    10. I have children that I would like to bring to the race. What activities are available?

    Our race is fun for the whole family, and we offer a variety of activities for children. For children under the age of 7 years, a FREE Kids' Fun Run is held in Village Shalom's circle drive, beginning at 8:45 a.m. All children participating will receive a bib number and a finisher's medal. Other activities include face painting, chalking, bean bag toss, a photo booth, and other arts and crafts. 

    11. May I bring my dog?

    Your 4-legged friend is welcome to join you on the 5K/10K. We'll have a doggie pool for your thirsty pup after the race. 

    12. Will there be food at the event?

    Yes! Inside their registration packet, each participant will find a voucher for a free breakfast. Spectators may purchase breakfast for $5.

    Cancellation Policy: In case of inclement weather, Village Shalom reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the race/course for safety concerns. In any case there will be NO REFUNDS of race entry fees, and there is no complimentary race entry to a future race. All funds raised support Village Shalom's programs and services for individuals and their families confronting the challenges of Alzheimer's Disease. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Any decision we make to go forth with the race is based on the overall safety of participants.
